Lawrence was only ten months old when his father, a married graduate student, lost his nine-month battle with the degenerative heart disease cardiomyopathy. Through a supportive family unit and an amazing drive to excel he was able to beat the odds to achieve success as a standout student, professional, and entrepreneur.
His entrance in professional speaking began with his involvement with Toastmasters International in the greater Los Angeles area. By the age of 24 he had served as a club president, area governor, and had won a district speech evaluation championship.
Several years later he earned the organization’s highest honor, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), for excellence and accomplishments not only in speaking, but in leadership through mentoring both his adult peers and the youth of his community.
