It's been a while. I just wanted to check in with you to see how things are going with marketing your idea.
You should make a list of companies that manufacture and market health products or dental hygiene products (like "Crest"). You should try to find the person in charge of "product development" of whatever companies you have in mind. I recommend speaking directly to people and don't send out emails. Tell them what your product does (but not how it works or how it is made). Ask them if they would be interested in producing such a product. If yes, then you can setup a meeting and pitch your product. If no, then onto the next company.
There may be several ways to go about getting your ideas started. And you can try to find investors, but I don't think that this would be necessary or even helpful to you right now. It would be extremely difficult to sell anything if all you have is an idea (I'm not saying that this is impossible, only that I wouldn't do it this way). My recommendation is to make some sort of working prototype so you have something significant on hand to present instead of a mere idea. Everyone has ideas. You need a working idea, then you should present your working idea to companies that have products in the line of business your product would fit. But, depending on how big and complex your idea is, for what you are talking about, you may not need any investors. It seems as though right now, you should be banking on your own creativity. If you need help with a prototype, maybe I can help.
I imagine that you most likely value the privacy of your idea, and it's good to keep it that way - private. But, I have one question - How do you picture this idea being made? Is it electrical, mechanical, computerized or a combination of these things? Talk to you soon. Have a good weekend!
